#47 Kerry Patchett

Bourbannais, IL

1947 Indian Chief

Hello Folks,

My name is Kerry Patchett ,  From Bourbonnais , IL  , Age 65

I work at a New Holland Farm Equipment dealership in Union Hill , IL .

I always have had a passion for older vehicles, my daily driver in high school and college was a Hudson automobiles, one of which I still have and enjoy.

Over the years I have owned several bikes & dreamed of owning an Indian Chief someday.   I remember a story that my parents told :    They were dating in high school & left a party in the country,  My Dad on his Indian Chief, my mother in a 1938 Chevy,   She thought it would be fun to “Bump “ him.  She bumped him about three times .   My Dad said every time he would get hit the bike would fish tail , and was going as fast as he could on  the dirt road and could not out run her.  My mother’s comment ( you know, I have never seen him so mad )

About 20 years ago , my wonderful wife bought me a beautiful large scale model of a 1947 Chief with red paint.   A few years ago ,  I found the full size match to that model and could not pass up the chance to own it .   I told her it must have been meant to be .

I will be riding the bike of my dreams, 1947 Red, Indian Chief,  on the Cross Country Chase in September.  To:  Jason & LeeAnn Sims,  Thank You for putting this event and experience together for me and others  to enjoy and participate in .     I CAN’T WAIT !!
