#58 Brandon Patchett

Glenview, IL

1958 Harley Davidson FLH

Hello, My name is Brandon Patchett. I live with my wife and twin 4 year old boys in Glenview, IL.  My father, Kerry Patchett, finished the inaugural 2019 Chase on his ’47 Indian.  Since then I have been doing AMCA road runs with him on either a borrowed Knuckhead or Shovelhead. During the Zion/Bryce/Grand-Cannon ride in Spring of 2021 I decided it was time to get my own pre-60’s bike and commit to the 2022 Chase.  My Dad, my Brother, and I are all excited to ride the Mother Road together this year!

My first two-wheeled love was a 1970 Honda Trail 70 (CT70H) that my Dad got my older brother and me.  After selling it nearly 30 years ago for $25 when we moved on to bigger bikes, my brother and I now have the same models in our garages for our kids (and us too).  My first real road bike was a 2000 Dyna that I bought when I was home leave from Afghanistan. We brought a trailer to pick it up, but I was too excited and made the short ride home on the bike, passing a few snowmobiles on the way.

The bike I will be riding for the Chase is a 1958 Harley FLH. A farmer customer of my fathers had the bike, but it had been sitting for the better part of a decade.  After a long courting ritual by my persistent father, I was finally allowed look at the bike and make an offer.  It was gorgeous and the perfect bike.  I got the bike going and made it to Davenport, IA shortly after I bought it. But I realized it needed a little more initial TLC than I could provide.  The bike is currently with Chris Tribbey (Bike Works in Milwaukee) getting the love that it deserves.  I am excited to share this adventure with my Dad and Older Brother, the two guys that started my passion for bikes and still give me constant motorcycle advice…..some of which I actually listen to as well.
