I will returning for my third Cross Country Chase adventure. As many of you may know; last years “Chase” in Cape Girardeau, Missouri…my truck broke down 50 miles short of the starting line. I was rescued by fellow chase rider and friend Bill Page who drove out and retrieved me and my trailer out on interstate 24. While we were out on the Chase my pickup sat in the dealership waiting for parts. As I waved and watched everyone depart for home, I wondered how long I would be stuck in town waiting for my truck parts that were on a national back order to arrive. The following Monday afternoon while I was in a club having a beer, I met a local woman who struck up a conversation with me after noticing my flathead parked outside. Turns out sitting in her basement for the last 40 years was her deceased husband’s Knucklehead Chopper. After 3-1/2 days of conversations and schmoozing, I convinced her to sell it to me. We rolled the time capsule out of the walk out basement and into my trailer. I immediately took it home and am in the process of converting it back to stock configuration. I will be competing in this event on my new/old 47 Knucklehead named “Dizzy Lizzy” after Liz, the gal who sold this beauty to me.
