#62 Scott Funk
Millersville, PA
1947 Indian Chief
Scott is 65 years young and has been a native of Lancaster County PA his entire life.
His first ride was a 1960’s Honda step thru 50. He then purchased a 1968 Honda CL175 Scrambler. After spending a small fortune to repair a smoking issue with it, Scott decided he would learn to do all the repairs himself from then on.
Scott would buy, sell and fix bikes for himself and friends at a young age. It was at this time he started dreaming about having his own cycle shop.
His dream came true at age twenty- one. For forty years he owned and operated a specialty auto repair and Tune-Up shop. His passion for the bikes remained with him as he continued to ride and repair bikes in his spare time.
As he began spending less hours in the shop his passion grew for long distance riding. He has completed two Iron Butt rides and in 2018 he did a cross country ride with three buddies. They rode ten thousand miles in thirty days. This became known as the “Wild Hogs Ride”
In 2019 Scott rode in the inaugural Cross Country Chase on a 1946 BSA, C-11. He was not able to get all the miles in full due to his engine blowing up.
In 2021 he rode his 1947 Indian Chief in the Secrets of the Ozarks and finished with the checkered flag, what a great feeling!!
Scott and his buddies planned to ride Route 66 on their modern bikes in 2022, but plans changed when it was announced that the Chase would be heading that way.
With the support from his wife Celesta of forty years and his family, he will be heading to Springfield Ilinois this fall. Scott is looking forward to meeting up with friends, riding “Old Route 66” and finishing at the checkered flag in California.
