#25 Bob Alexander

Upson, WI

1953 BMW R25/3

One 68-year-old 12 HP “Beemer” and rider the same age with only 2500 miles to concur.  Sounds like a fun challenge!  I’ve embraced motorcycle touring for almost 50 years and 900k miles in all 50 States, 12 Canadian Provinces, and 5 other continents.  Also spent over 20 years as a part-time MSF Instructor and organized a few BMW National Rallies.

After riding to portions of previous Cannonballs and most of the 2021 event, my good friends and participants Randy Samz and Jon Dobbs said; “Bob you need to ride the Chase!” But with none of my bikes old enough, I started looking for another BMW preferably a 1953 to match my birth year.  With the help of my brother-in-law, also a rider, he located the BMW on craigslist. Although I’ve bought and titled the bike, it remains in New York waiting to be picked up after the snow melts. The Beemer and I will be “Rarin & Ready” for Route 66 in September.  Nothing could be better than “Standing on a Corner in Winslow Arizona with my old R25!”
