#53 Merle Tully

Fredricksburg, TX

1946 Indian Chief

Merle’s first experience with a bike was a friends Cushman when he was 11 years old.  By 15 Merle was a proud owner of a 1970 Honda CB750.  His brother had bought a 1950’s Harley Davidson FL Panhead hand shift and said if you could start it you could ride it  From then on vintage bikes have always caught his eye.  He then shifted his focus to racing dirt track stock cars for years but when that was over he asked his wife if she would like to get a bike and travel? and the best wife you could ever ask for said only if it is a HARLEY!! after many road trips together his interest in vintage bikes peaked again and for his 50th birthday he had the opportunity to buy a 1946 Indian Chief so he jumped on it.  He can see after following the Chase there are many challenges, machine, physical and mental. Merle is excited and ready for the opportunity to participate in the Chase!!
