1960 Harley Davidson FLH

I learned how to ride a motorcycle on my 21st birthday. Before meeting my husband, I hadn’t really done much riding. When we first met  he was working for a Harley dealer and was getting into road racing. With a passion for riding, he encouraged me to start riding my own bike again. My dad gave me his Honda VT 500 to practice on and soon I regained some of my comfort in riding again. Shortly after, my husband bought my first Harley, a 1984 Low Rider. I started to venture out more with him as my confidence grew.

My first big trip was around Lake Michigan over a long weekend. Shortly after that short but Epic trip, I found out I was pregnant. I stopped riding on my own until 2 years ago, when my youngest son was 19. My husband said it’s time for us to enjoy riding again. I took the Riding Academy at his shop and before I knew it, I was off and riding again on the same bike from 20 years ago. In addition to my Low Rider, I ride a newer 2012 Heritage that I love.

My husband rode his first Chase last year and came back obsessed from the experience. He asked me to join him on this year’s RT66 Chase. I am ready for the challenge and the adventure of riding alongside my husband and meeting some new friends along the way. I can never go back to being a passenger again, it’s too much fun!
