1946 Harley Davidson WL

I have been riding motorcycles since 1987. My brother asked if my father and I wanted to go in together to buy a 1979 Sportster, and now here we are with five different Harleys in the basement. I am also a licensed Architect in NYS and have been married to my lovely wife since 2002.
My wife and I met because I offered to take her for a ride, her father was also a rider. Her first question was “what do you have?”, apparently a Harley Davidson was the right answer as she went out with me that night. We are more involved in touring on motorcycles, we have just completed being in all 48 lower States on the same 2005 Road Glide. Christmas Eve 2021 had us entering Texas for the first time to complete the quest. 80k miles on that bike including a six-week 10k mile trip in 2013 that had us going from Long Island to Nova Scotia, then out to Sturgis, Idaho, Glacier NP and then back home via the HD 110th Anniversary party in Milwaukee, quite the trip.
In 2014 we attended The Race of Gentlemen in Wildwood NJ; we were both immediately hooked on the vintage scene. Six weeks later we bought a non-running 1946 Harley Davidson WL Solo and I joined the AMCA. She has competed in every TROG in Wildwood since 2015 and a trip to Pismo Beach California in 2016. After the vintage motorcycle bug bit us, we then found a 1970 Harley Davidson FLH for our two up vintage needs. 1970 is my birth year and a Shovelhead seemed like a nice addition to our “fleet”.
We live in Lake Grove NY, an eastern suburb on NYC on Long Island. We have been in the same house since 1997.
